Osun Osogbo Festival

The Osun-Osogbo Festival is one of Africa's most enduring living heritage celebrations.
Held annually in Osogbo, Osun State, the festival honours Osun and celebrates the enduring relationship between the people, their culture, their land and the sacred river.
For more than six centuries, the festival has remained a living tradition — passed from generation to generation through royal institutions, community participation, artistic expression and sacred cultural practices.
The festival culminates at the Osun-Osogbo Sacred Grove, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa's most significant cultural landscapes.
Under the leadership of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun Oyetunji Larooye II, Ataoja of Osogbo Land and Custodian of the Osun-Osogbo Festival, the tradition continues to evolve while remaining firmly rooted in its identity.
